This page is about the Bushman/Parker Hale IDW.
A rather unusual modern design from Bushman Ltd. later modified as the Parker Hale IDW (Individual Defence Weapon). It has the proportions and calibre of a handgun but can deliver fully-automatic fire. Bushman and Parker Hale claim that the IDW has eliminated weapon "climb", thus the weapon can fire continuously without the firer having to re-center on the target after every shot. The magazine well is forward of the trigger, like a submachine gun. It is chambered for 9mm Parabellum rounds. The Parker Hale IDW was produced in 1999 and has been pitched as an ideal weapon for special forces.
